ziplining

Totally satisfied. I always wanted to go ziplining.

athleticism.

Ha, not. All you do is walk off the steps and then your weight sort of propels you across the cable. One of the tour guides has to reel your helpless ass in to the next tree because by the time you get to the other end you sort of lose momentum.

Here I am uselessly dangling from the cable, not exactly the ferocious velocity I imagined:

This was one of the last ones we did. By the time we got to the last cable it was dark out and the guides showed us how to zipline backwards and upside down, for those who wanted to. I was very keen on learning this skill and took off backwards, recklessly kicking my legs in an attempt to throw them over my head and hook them to the rope. Of courseĀ  in my over-excitement I totally failed and just ended up flailing around backwards with my stiffened legs in a straddle position for half the run before giving up and going backĀ  to dangling as I waited to arrive at the other end of the cable.
